Last week, the global new ship orders rebounded smartly, it is mainly concentrated in oil tankers. According to Golden Destiny¡¯s latest weekly report, last week ship owners ordered 42 new ships, including 3 bulk cargo ships, 18 tanker ships, 9 liquefied gas ships, 2 container ships, 4 cruises and 6 special transport ships. Total capacity reached 2,016,500 dwt. Of these, 20 new ships cost unpublished, the remaining 22 new vessels total investment cost of about $2 billion 352 million 800 thousand. Compared with the previous week, new ships orders increased by 100%. Data shows that last week the tanker orders accounted for 42.9%; bulk orders accounted for 7.1%; liquefied gas ship orders accounted for 21.4%; container ship orders accounted for 4.8%; cruise orders accounted for 9.5%; special transport ship orders accounted for 14.3%. Compared with the previous week, the tanker orders increased by 80%, from 10 to 18; liquefied gas ship orders increased by 13%, from 8 to 9; special transport ship orders increased by 100%, from 3 to 6.
Clarksons Hellas pointed out last week in thank field, Andriaki Shipping ordered 2 sets 74000 DWT LR1 tanker in the STX, which are expected to be delivered in 2017; Doun Kisen orders ordered 2 sets 38500 DWT IMO-2 stainless steel Chemical tanker in northern Japan shipbuilding, which are expected to be delivered in 2018; Prime Shipping Corp ordered 2+2 sets 26,300 DWT IMO-2 chemical tanker ships in Ningbo Xinle Shipbuliding Group, which are expected to be delivered in the first half of 2017, Transpetrochart ordered 2 sets 8000 DWT tanker in Lotos Shipyard, which are scheduled for delivery in 2017; Volgatrans JSC ordered 2 sets 6710 DWT tanker in Lotos Shipyard, which are expected to be delivered in April 2017.
In the field of container ships, PLC ordered 4 sets 11800 TEU container ship in the new Yangzi shipbuilding, which are expected to be delivered in 2018 and 2019.
