China’s "Sea Dragon III" submersible was carried by the "ocean one" science examination ship. The first deep water test was completed in the Western Pacific Ocean on the morning of 25, reaching 1690 meters deep.
At 5:20 25th, March (Beijing time), "Sea Dragon III" enter into the water from the mother ship "ocean one" to do the 2000 meters deep water test, diving 3 hours after reaching the bottom of the 1690 meters deep. The submersible captured the seamounts crusting, and the related equipment had also completed the required actions, then successfully recovered to the deck of "ocean No.1".
Chu Fengyou, chief scientist of "ocean No.1", said, “Sea Dragon III “deepwater test is equipped with rock cutting tools, sampling manipulator and so on. During the sea trial, the submersible and all kinds of equipment run well, the technical condition is stable, and the test target is successfully realized.
